From 15 to 21 October, the 3rd meeting of our Erasmus project “Happier YOUth in a Healthier EU” was held at the Sultangazi Cumhuriyet Anadolu Lisesi in Istanbul with all the partners : German, Spanish, Netherlands, French and Turkish.
After Lille in April 2022, Bad Hartzburg in June 2022, a group of 7 students (Lina, Védra, Judith, Devrim, Florian, Tom, Paul) accompanied by Bertrand Vanderbeken, teacher in documentation, and Frédéric Rousselle, Director of OEC International went to Istanbul. On the first evening, the students were expected by their host families for a week immersion in a Turkish family.
Programme : English language activities related to the project with all the partners.
Theme of this meeting: “Friendship”. But also the discovery of a city straddling two continents where the Byzantine Empire and the Ottoman Empire still rub shoulders. A week full of activities: boat trip on the Bosphorus, Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar, Topkapi, Dolmabahce Palace, the Galata Tower, the cisterns of Saint Sophia and of course “Hagia Sofia”; the opportunity also to taste Turkish specialities and to appreciate a true sense of hospitality
